This mineral is widely recognized for its use in the manufacture of batteries, but its versatility extends to various materials, such as glass and ceramics, alloys for the aerospace industry and medication. This wide range of applications makes lithium a fundamental and strategic resource for the economy of many countries.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Though the largest lithium reserve is in Chile\u2019s Salar de Atacama, this valuable metal can be found in several parts of the world.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Where is lithium in the world?<\/h3>\n

Lithium is found in rocks and salt flats in the earth\u2019s crust. South America\u2019s \u201cLithium triangle\u201d (Argentina, Bolivia, Chile) concentrates 85% of the world’s reserves. Chile is the world\u2019s second largest producer after Australia, with 29% of global production.<\/p>\n
